The Dangerous Fears of Bob Inglis

His Fear of Bogus Economic Disaster Led to Bailout Votes

Bob Inglis believes that man-made CO2 released into the earth's atmosphere is causing life-killing acid in the ocean.

There are many reputable scientific experts that say his fear is unjustified.

Here, he is pictured to the left in a captured image from his nine minute YouTube video. The video shows Representative Inglis explaining the alleged danger. In the picture and video, Representative Inglis holds a jar of acid water containing an egg. Inglis uses the jar to illustrate how the acid water melts the shell of an egg. Inglis argues this acidfication is what CO2 is causing in the oceans. He believes acidification from CO2 emissions will destroy the ocean's ecosystem. Thus, Inglis believes our auto-industrial CO2 American society, if it continues unabated, will have catostrophic consequences for life on the earth.

The Inglis YouTube video is highly significant because it demonstrates that Representative Inglis has bought a tent in the camp of the global warming paranoid.

Here's the problem. He is also our Representative, and a lot of folks believe the camp is built upon bogus CO2 science.

Representative Inglis' fear that man-made carbon emissions could utterly destroy of the ocean's ecosystem will inevitably lead him to vote for tax plans to discourage U.S. citizens and businesses from maintaining their rate of carbon emissions. Such policies, if actually enacted by our government, will do grave damage to the United States economy by putting America at a competitive disadvantage against other countries (like China), and they threaten to destroy our prosperous American way of life. Bob Inglis' fear represents a direct threat to our children.

And, voting the wrong way based on fear is not new for Representative Inglis. He has a track record.

On September 29, 2008, Bob Inglis voted "yes" for the $700 Billion "Crap Sandwich" Bailout of Wall Street. It is easy to see now how that bailout vote was a colossal mistake. The bailout money was used to fund million dollar bonuses for Wall Street and Banking executives. It was used to bailout foreign banks. It did nothing to help the economy except it allowed the federal government (instead of the free market system) to pick its favored winners and losers.

Inglis stated at the time he had no choice to vote on the bill. "When knowledgeable people tell us that there is a substantial chance of a depression, it’s time to act." See Inglis Rescue Package Decision Memo. However, even when he cast the vote, hundreds of noted economists and bankers had already signed a Petition denying that the economy was so bad urgent enactment of the bailout without Congressional hearings was required.
Narayana Kocherlakota, of the University of Minnesota, calls the White House's case an unconvincing one. "I think one of the reasons why so many people were signing that is the administration has not brought forward the information that would be compelling, that yes, we are facing economic Armageddon," Kocherlakota says.
NPR Story, Planet Money, David Kestenbaum (Oct. 1, 2008).

Fear makes bad policy.

Representative Inglis' fear of ocean acidification (i.e., the "Acid in Oceans Fraud") represents a real and present danger to the United States economy. It could mean Inglis might really vote with Democrats and other moderate Republicans for economy wrecking, capping and taxing policies.

If he voted for Wall Street bailouts once out of fear, wouldn't he again repeat the mistake by voting out of fear of ocean acidication? The means to stop ocean acidification is to enact oppressive tax policies built upon fraudulent CO2 science. Should we re-elect a man so easily manipulated by fear mongering?

The second question is one that the majority of voters in the Fourth District should decide with a resounding "NO" vote in 2010.

Inglis: A Global Warming Alarmist?

4th District Constituants in "State of Denial"

Bob Inglis seems to have accepted the premise that CO2/global warming science is a valid, real and dangerous threat to the planet.

What I’m finding here in Congress is some people are willing to face the science on this and cope with it…others really don’t want to talk about the science because they want to continue in some sort of state of denial. Well I think it’s getting harder to deny scientific facts about climate change. And particularly if you look at the issue of the ocean it becomes even more clear.
At this point, I need to be convinced that Representative Inglis is right about the validity of the scientific theories espoused by global warming alarmists.

There is a contradictory scientific position. Research material may be found at CO2 Science.

It should concern folks that Representative Inglis suggests that he is unwilling to examine the scientific evidence on the other side of the CO2 argument. If one believes the planet is in serious jeopardy, then one will take extreme steps to save her. Those steps could include economy wrecking capping and taxing policies. Or . . . an even more orwellian solution such as the one suggested in the video embedded below.

Our representatives in Congress must carefully scrutinize both sides of the CO2 debate. We need people with integrity in Congress . . . not lemmings.

Spurrier-Kiffin Feud Brewing

Tennessee Coach Matching Wits with Spurrier

This post is juvenile. It relates to squabbling between the head coaches at the University of Tennessee, Lane Kiffin, and Steve Spurrier.

The day before Kiffin was announced as the UT coach, he had already begun calling some recruits a day earlier. That prompted Spurrier to ask whether it was legal for Kiffin to call recruits before taking the NCAA mandated certification test. Spurrier speculated that Kiffin probably was on the telephone the day before to Jarvis Giles as "an interested observer." See December Sports Illustrated story.

Kiffin fired back that he had taken the test online a few days before he was hired. Kiffin further stated he made a very high score on the Certification Test. He challenged Spurrier to tell everyone how well Spurrier did on the test. Spurrier had no comment.

Months later, Kiffin got in trouble with the SEC Commissioner for telling boosters that Urban Meyer "had to cheat" in recruiting a player sought by both UT and UF. See Go Vols Extra story.

Everything died down until this weekend in Destin, Florida, where the SEC coaches are now meeting for the SEC spring meetings.

Then, Kiffin began popping off again.

When Kiffin was asked by media if Kiffin had apologized to the Florida Coach, Meyer, who he wrongly accused of cheating, Kiffin sought to deflect the question. Kiffin griped that Spurrier never apologized when he (Spurrier) allegedly accused Kiffin of "cheating" with regard to the test.

The fact is Spurrier never accused Kiffin of "cheating." Spurrier just asked, in a Spurrier-like manner, if Kiffin's calls to recruits before he was hired as UT's Head Coach were legal.

The State published an article about the confrontation in Destin, reporting that Spurrier confronted Kiffin. Spurrier first denied he accused Kiffin of cheating (so he had no need to apologize). Spurrier then told nearby reporters, according to Person's piece, “He took the test online and I didn’t know you could do that. I thought you had to take the test on campus, then get announced.” (emphasis added)

With Spurrier, you know there is more to his remarks than they show on the surface.

I did some checking.

Sure enough, it appears probable Kiffin has been exposed for another NCAA rules violation. The Rules do not allow a prospective Coach to take the Certification test before he is hired. A Coach must also take a test "at" the institution with an administrator from the school. Read on to see the details of my analysis.

The NCAA Recruiting Certification program, “requires coaches currently employed by NCAA Division I and II institutions to pass a written test.” (Emphasis in Original).

Notice that the NCAA requires coaches be “currently” employed. This is emphasized by the NCAA's published rule. It actually is a requirement that is listed twice in the rule . . . it is just that important.

Second, the NCAA indicates the tests are to be “administered” by the Institutions. This administration rule is pretty specific. It states as follows:
Administration

Q1: Who is permitted to administer the test to coaching staff members?

A: Tests may be administered at a Division I institution by any institutional staff member. At an NCAA Division II institution tests must be administered by a nonathletics department staff member or conference administrator. Conferences also may determine or limit who is permitted to administer the test.

NCAA Divisions I and II Coaches Certification Program, Divisions I and II Questions and Answers. Notice that Spurrier's hint is correct. The tests must be taken by coaches "at" the institution.

Writer Joe Person said that Kiffin “turned red during the 40-second exchange.” See The State.

It appears from Kiffin's reaction, that he has been schooled by the master barbsman and caught with his proverbial pants down.

Judician Nominee Sotomayor

Alleged Bias Charge Unjustified

Sonia Sotomayor was appointed by President Obama as the next U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

Fox News, and perhaps other outlets, are hammering away on a 2001 speech by Sotomayor at University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. Sotomayor was then an appeals court judge.

Fox has highlighted an excerpt from the speech as evidence of Judge Sotmayor's bias in favor of ethnic groups, or as evidence she believes she is better able to judge than "white males."

The controversial sentence from her speech was as follows:

I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life.
However, after reading the entire speech, which is published by the NY Times, Lecture: A Latina Judge's Voice, it appears that the sentence as evidence of bias is being blown out of proportion.

Sotomayor seems to be making the point that over the course of history, the court system has been dominated by men and Caucasians. In the speech she cites statistical evidence demonstrating that the court system is becoming more desegregated as time passes. However, there is still an underrepresentation on the courts of women and minorities, Sotomayor states.

She argues that over those hundreds of years, the courts made decisions that were unjust in that they failed to remedy unfairness and oppression of minorities and women. Thus, she suggests that if women and minorities had been present in the historical context, perhaps the nation would have progressed more rapidly toward equality for all. Here are some extended quotations from the speech.

I intend tonight to touch upon the themes that this conference will be discussing this weekend and to talk to you about my Latina identity, where it came from, and the influence I perceive it has on my presence on the bench.

The aspiration to impartiality is just that--it's an aspiration because it denies the fact that we are by our experiences making different choices than others. Not all women or people of color, in all or some circumstances or indeed in any particular case or circumstance but enough people of color in enough cases, will make a difference in the process of judging.

Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences, a possibility I abhor less or discount less than my colleague Judge Cedarbaum, our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging. Justice O'Connor has often been cited as saying that a wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases. I am not so sure Justice O'Connor is the author of that line since Professor Resnik attributes that line to Supreme Court Justice Coyle. I am also not so sure that I agree with the statement. First, as Professor Martha Minnow has noted, there can never be a universal definition of wise. Second, I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life.

Let us not forget that wise men like Oliver Wendell Holmes and Justice Cardozo voted on cases which upheld both sex and race discrimination in our society. Until 1972, no Supreme Court case ever upheld the claim of a woman in a gender discrimination case. I, like Professor Carter, believe that we should not be so myopic as to believe that others of different experiences or backgrounds are incapable of understanding the values and needs of people from a different group. Many are so capable. As Judge Cedarbaum pointed out to me, nine white men on the Supreme Court in the past have done so on many occasions and on many issues including Brown.

Supreme Court Nominee Sonia Sotomayor

On a Court's Role . . . Policy Making

The website Answers.com has a nice definition of “judicial activism”.
The charge that judges are going beyond their appropriate powers and engaging in making law and not merely interpreting it. Against this position is placed the ideal of judicial restraint, which counsels judges to resist the temptation to influence public policy through their decisions and decrees.
President Obama's new selection, who jokes around about it when she is caught on tape making the admission she makes policy instead of just faithfully interpreting the laws enacted by our legislators, is by definition a judicial activist.

MSNBC's Maddow Hammers Obama Administration

Could the Bloom Be Off the Rose?

MSNBC has been one of the Obama Administration's biggest cheerleaders. However, watch this video where Rachel Maddow hammers the Obama Administration's unconstitutional plan to create a formula for "prolonged detention" of suspected terrorists.

The Administration is nationalizing the private sector fast. It has already captured the banking and automobile industry. The energy sector is the next target and could become tax slaves of the federal government if Congress passes cap and trade taxes. Then, health care, which makes up one seventh of the economy.

Economic freedom is dissapating so fast my head is spinning.

What about civil rights? Mind crimes like "hate crimes" legislation is on the table. However, the left is waking up to the blatant erosion of the Fourth Amendment, which prohibits search and seizure without probable cause. For the sake of "security," this important Constitutional principle is being set aside by the Obama Administration.

In her brutally scathing piece attacking President Obama's hypocracy on the issue, Maddow cites a short story by the greatest sci-fi author of all time, Phillip K. Dick.

Does Bob Inglis Support Cap and Trade?

Andrew Smart Campaign Site Suggests Inglis Would Vote for Huge New Democrat Tax

In a NY Time Op Ed article Bob Inglis cowrote with Arthur B. Laffer, Representative Bob Inglis argues that the cap and trade tax on carbon emmissions could be a good thing. However, in the Op-Ed, Inglis and Laffer suggest that Congress enact the huge excise tax as an alternative to the income tax.

Perhaps it is politics as usual, but it appears Candidate Smart intentionally distorts Inglis' position on the Democrat cap and trade tax. Smart's campaign site states, "Bob Inglis supports President Obama's idea of a Carbon Tax and thinks conservatives could be “the new administration’s best allies on climate change.”

The Smart campaign does not disclose that in the article Inglis' and Laffer suggest the cap and trade tax might be an alternative to the income tax. As a conservative, the idea of excise taxes instead of income taxes has merit. With that trade in mind, I can now understand why a supply side hero like Arthur Laffer might support it.

The first paragraph of the Inglis Op-ed makes it clear that conservatives (presumably including Inglis) cannot support the huge new Democrat cap and trade tax. After that, however, the piece states, "But offer us a tax swap, and we could become the new administration’s best allies on climate change."

I could support Smart for Congress. Inglis has already lost my vote because of his approval of the Bush/Paulson $700 Billion "crap sandwich" bailouts. Those bailout votes took place over the howls of a huge majority of his Upstate constitutants.

Distortions do not serve Mr. Smart's young campaign well. They serve only to alienate. Perhaps it would be wise to clean up the campaign site and improve accuracy. Really, Mr. Smart has no need to distort Inglis' positions to gain conservative votes. All he needs to do is adopt truely conservative (i.e., small government) principles and articulate them. He would then displace the Congressman.

Chart of the Day

While the stock market is up sharply since early March, the economy as well as corporate earnings continue to suffer. Today's chart helps provide some perspective as to the magnitude of the current economic decline. Today's chart illustrates that 12-month, as-reported S&P 500 earnings have declined over 90% over the past 20 months (with over 90% of S&P 500 companies having reported for Q1 2009), making this by far the largest decline on record (the data goes back to 1936). In fact, real earnings have dropped to a record low and if current estimates hold, Q3 2009 will see the first 12-month period during which S&P 500 earnings are negative.

Big Brother A Reality?

Big Government's Global Warming A Phantom Crisis

The Competitive Enterprise Institute argues the Global warming crisis is as bogus as The War that was used to cow the population in Orwell's 1949 novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, depicting a stark, totalitarian future. In Orwell's novel, Big Government's leader and propoganda spokesman was "Big Brother."

Can Big Brother be green? Absolutely. If carbon dioxide were the planetary poison that global warming alarmists claim, then every aspect of our lives would be fair game for government control: the homes we build, the cars we drive, the light bulbs we use. Even the number of children we have—because lets face it; any reduction in CO2 that we achieve will be more than offset by the households our kids will create when they grow up.

There are already proposals in Congress and federal agencies to vastly increase taxes and regulations in order to address the so-called global warming crisis. But as a growing number of scientists are openly declaring, there is no crisis.

To take action, and to learn more, see CEI.Org/1984.

South Park fans—this clip has a special treat for you.

Irony aficionados—In its original 1984 ad, Apple Computer warned of a totalitarian threat in computing. Today Al Gore sits on Apples Board of Directors. The company that warned of 1984 25 years ago now has, as one of its directors, the man most likely to lead us into a new 1984.

History students—Apple Computer ran its ad, only once, during the 1984 Super Bowl, to introduce its new Macintosh computer. In 2006, during the primary battles, a pro-Obama YouTube take-off of the Apple ad was created by an independent solo video artist,.casting Hillary Clinton in the role of Big Brother. The ad was titled Vote Different—apparently parodying Apples Think Different slogan. It can be viewed at Clinton Take Off.

Mr. Obama's War

Billions Appropriated for War, Nation-Building; $75 Billion for IMF

Although Barack Obama campaigned on a platform of disengaging America from the war on terror, it appears that the Obama Administration is ramping up military operations worldwide, and that it plans a huge nation building effort in Afghanistan.

In the category of "so what else is new," another American President is using the old "war on terror" scare tactic to drum up public support for unprecedented amount of new spending. The Bill being pushed by the Administration calls for spending over $5 Billion for ongoing military operations worldwide. Billions of more dollars are to be poured into continuing the Iraq nation building effort.

In the War Appropriations Bill , President Obama has specifically requested Congress to enact authority to spend over $3.6 Billion for Afghanistan nation building. The Bill calls for nation building in Afghanstan spending for, "equipment, supplies, services, training, facility and infrastructure repair, renovation, and construction, and funding."

Hey! We could use some of that spending in South Carolina!

Better yet. Why don't we just have a tax cut in that amount.

Unless the American public roars, there appears virtually zero chance the Democrat Congress will have the guts to stand up against a seemingly popular Democrat President to stop this further depletion of limited American tax-payer resources.

The President's spending bill also includes $1 Billion for an ‘Iraq Security Forces Fund’, and $400 Million for "Pakistan Counterinsurgency Capability Fund.’

Even more troubling than all the wasteful nation building and military expansionism, is the Administration's attempt, with its willing partners in the Democrat Congress, to sneak in a humongous, unpopular earmark of $75 Billion dollars in unrelated spending and loans to the International Monetary Fund.

The Reptile In Our Brains

Dr. Paul D. MacLean's Triune Brain

This weekend I attended a trial seminar in Atlanta. The subject of the seminar was based in a developing field of neuroscience led by Paul MacLean, the Triune Brain. A picture to illustrate's MacLean's Triune brain theory is pictured to the right.

MacLean postulates that the human brain is made up of the three parts shown. Logically, one would assume that the higher level part of the brain, the neocortex, would be dominant. However, MacLean postulates that the brain is actually controlled by the baser levels, found in the brain stem. He suggests the archepallium can hijack the higher levels whenever it wants to do so. MacLean dubs this aspect of human thinking the "Reptile Brain."

In our seminar, David Ball, one of the speakers, called this phenomenum "the Reptile." He suggested, "whenever the Reptile, through her slaves the intellect and emotion, perceives danger, she takes over the human brain."

The brain stem contains the medulla, pons, cerebellum, mesencephalon, the globus pallidus, and the olfactory bulbs. It is the most primitive part of our brain. In reptiles the brain stem and cerebellum control behavior. Could it be true for humans?

In the field of archetypology, or the study of why people do what they do, MacLean's findings are an extremely hot topic. This is particularly true in the field of marketing. Figuring out why people do what they do, archetypology, is a key factor in how to market a product or service. Dr. G. Clotaire Rapaille, a French psychiatrist, has combined MacLean's discoveries into marketing principles to bring about powerful marketing results.

The idea behind our seminar this weekend was to bring MacLean's and Rapaille's principles into the courtroom. Through these ideas we can motivate jurors to reach a correct verdict.

The insurance industry and multinational corporations have been pushing reptile brain functions in our jurors for years, and now we are learning what they have been doing and how to fight back.

I knew the seminar was more than your typical, boring legal seminar when I saw the hotel staff. They were not hanging out in the lobby to talk to each other about the Braves or the weather. They were all sitting around the edges of the room watching in rapt attention.

I knew this was a powerful subject when we were supposed to leave at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday afternoon. However, the teachers were excited. And, the people in the seminar demanded the teachers keep teaching, through lunch, until well after 4:00 P.M.

Inspector General Cop Ignores Trillions in Fed Spending

Wake Up America

The website of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, Office of Inspector General (OIG) alleges that it helps protect the American people from ripoffs through corrupt actions by the Federal Reserve.
"The Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducts independent and objective audits, inspections, evaluations, investigations, and other reviews related to programs and operations of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (Board). OIG efforts promote integrity, economy, efficiency, and effectiveness; help prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse; and strengthen accountability to the Congress and the public. The OIG’s work assists the Board in managing risk and in achieving its overall mission to foster the stability, integrity, and efficiency of the nation’s monetary, financial, and payment systems so as to promote optimal macroeconomic performance."
Elizabeth A. Coleman is the head of the OIG. She was appointed by the Bush Administration in May 2007.

Since September 2008, the Federal Reserve obligated trillions of dollars through on and off budget transactions with foreign banks, foreign governments, federal reserve banks, and organizations. There seems to be no oversight by the Executive Branch or Congress of this extremely lavish Federal Reserve spending spree, and it is shrouded in secrecy.

Here, Representative Alan Grayson (D) asks Coleman (OIG) about oversight of the trillions of dollars lent or spent by the Federal Reserve since September 2008, where it went, etc. He also inquires about the trillions of off balance sheet obligations.

Coleman becomes increasingly uncomfortable with Grayson's straight-forward questions and finally responds that the IG does not know and is not tracking where this money is and then she implies the OIG does not have jurisdiction to monitor that aspect of the Fed's actions.

This video shows why Congress must immediately act and pass the Federal Reserve Transparency Act.

Federal Control of Health Care System

Is Federal Control of Health Care Wise?

The video below shows how federal beuracracy rations health care for Native Americans. The Native American health care is "universal health care" controlled by the federal government.

Current Democrat plans to nationalize the American healthcare system permit private health care insurance to "compete" against the government subsidized plans. However, will the private insurance plans survive when the federal government forces health care providers to charge artificially lower prices to save tax dollars.

Meanwhile, won't the prices the providers charge to the private insurance plans will have to increase to make up for the shortfall caused by government-mandated price controls. Doesn't that mean that it is likely private insurance plans will be required to increase premiums for businesses or consumers that buy the plans so they can remain profitable? It sounds like a prescription for failure for the private insurance plans. As they crumble, expect the federal government to take them over (like Chevrolet) with tax-payer funded bailouts.

The chart below shows a graph of my weight loss over the last three month period. Obviously, the trend is in the right direction.

Click on and I will provide some detail about my experience with the Wii and additional graphs and charts about the progress.

First, the following four charts immediately below illustrate the frequency that I used the Wii program. The first two charts document the dates that measurements were taken. The next two show type of activity during in the span.

Notice that the March chart above shows that I tried a variety of the different Wii exercise programs, Yoga, strength, and aerobics. However, at about the end of March, I was getting pretty tired of the Wii trainers. The two trainers (0ne male and one female) say the same thing over and over. It is annoying.

Fed up with jogging in place in my house while running my Mii character around a virtual Wii Island, I figured, I might as well start actually running around my neighborhood. Thus, a lot of my April workout routine (shown above) involved running a couple miles in the neighborhood. (See the gray bars on the chart.) Now, if I do not run, I will usually try the strength program. Occasionally, I will used the Yoga program, which is pretty fun, as a workout break.

The charts above and below suggest that I have been steadily losing weight. However, if you look carefully, you can see that the April weight loss rate has slowed. Hopefully, the running will trigger greater losses in the next couple months.

Likely, my diet is going to have to change if I really intend to keep losing.

Federal Government Takes Aim at Second Amendment

Requires Database Of American Gun Owners

President Obama supports an treaty called "Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and other Related Materials" (Firearm Trafficking Treaty).

The proposed Firearm Trafficking Treaty treaty must first be ratified by a Democrat Congress.

The Firearm Trafficking Treaty is designed to stop the flow of weapons and ammunition accross national borders. (See link at Department of International Law, American States).

The treaty requires each nation that signs it to create a database of guns manufactured within its borders. The Treaty requires signing States, "assure the maintenance for a reasonable time of the information necessary to trace and identify illicitly manufactured and illicitly trafficked firearms." Article XI, Firearm Trafficking Treaty. It requires all guns to be registered with a serial number, and presumably will require tracking of each weapon sold in the United States.

The treaty participants must include in the database, "authorized producers, dealers, importers, exporters, and, whenever possible, carriers of firearms, ammunition, explosives . . . [and] shall cooperate in the tracing of firearms, ammunition, explosives." Article XIII, Firearm Trafficking Treaty. The other nations that are in the treaty can obtain the new federal database of Americans with firearms.

According to the treaty, participating nations can request that the database be maintained in confidence. However, it is easy to imagine a corrupt government such as Mexico leaking the treaty database with drug cartels. The drug dealers would be able to then identify those Americans who had firearms in their homes. With the rash of home invastions occurring on the border, this new database could be valuable for drug gangs which could then to target firearm owning American homes in Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, or California to aquire more weapons?

The Treaty also permits the other States involved in the treaty to force "extradition" of allegedly offending persons. Article XIX, Firearm Trafficking Treaty. Thus, Americans could, in theory, be arrested and sent to a bannana republic for a non-jury trial before foreigners.

Here is a spot about the treaty as shown on the Lou Dobbs show:

The Firearm Trafficking Treaty says it will preserve the right of member states to use guns for sporting purposes; however, sporting was never the purpose of the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment was not written to protect hunting trips. It was written as a way to guarantee American citizens could defend themselves from tyranny. That protection is not assured by the treaty.

It is very hard to believe a United States President would actually agree our nation should enter such a treaty. However, that day has arrived. Hopefully, we have a Congress with at least a modicum of common sense.

Memphis Abortion Clinic Counselor

Planned Parenthood Attempts Defense of Indefensible

Lila Rose, a California college student, conducts undercover operations against Abortion Clinics. She shoots video capturing Clinic personnel at Planned Parenthood's Memphis clinic counseling a supposed 14 year old minor to lie in court about her 31 year old boyfriend. A portion of the Lila Rose video was shown on Glenn Beck's show.

Now, Planned Parenthood, afraid of the trouble that is coming, sent a letter (shown at this link) to the Tennessee State representatives. Problem is . . . the letter is full of distortions and lies. Therefore, Rose's company Live Action Films releases another devastating video.

Gamecocks Strength and Condition Program

Craig Fitzgerald Leading Off Season Conditioning

On January 10, 2009, the South Carolina Gamecocks hired Craig Fitzgerald as the new director of strength and conditioning. Fitzgerald had been Harvard's strength and conditioning coach. Some fans questioned the hire. Not too many SEC programs dip into the Division III, Ivy League to get their coaches. NCAA Division III schools are those that choose not to offer athletically related financial aid (athletic scholarships) to their student-athletes.

The Gamecocks made the hire after former strength and condition coach, Mark Smith, left for a job on Lane Kiffin's staff at Tennessee.

However, at Harvard, Fitzgerald was "renowned for arriving at his office at 5:30 in the morning and working days that ran as long as 15 to 16 hours. He "was a master motivator who stressed accountability and got results." The Harvard Crimson (Jan. 11, 2009).

Now, there is a YouTube video that seems to indicate the Gamecock football players are buying into the Fitzgerald program.

After I wrote the piece, the person who posted the original video also posted the following message:
South Carolina strength video
The strength video you have posted was uploaded on Facebook by the student who shot and edited the footage. While he did do the work on it, the video itself is property of the South Carolina Athletic Department and needs to come down for now. The video will be used to help recruits and needs to pass through a few other departments before it becomes public. If you could please take the video down until we get it cleared, then in all likelihood you'll be able to put it back up.

We appreciate the attention you're bringing to the new strength program, we just want to make sure the video passes through all appropriate clearances before it becomes public. If you have any issues just reply to this message. Thanks
I will try to follow and get this back up soon. All I can say is that the video is great and it looks like the players are enthusiasticly getting in very good shape.
